Get ready to be fired up by the impressive potential of this well-flavoured herbal remedy in health and healing. Greek Mountain Tea grows naturally at altitudes above 3,200 feet (~ 975 meters). It’s a survivor, growing wild and thriving on poor soil and limited amounts of water. Originating from the Greek mountains such as Olymp, home of the Greek gods and ancient mythology, its name translating into “He who is made of iron”: Greek Mountain Tea, a herb my clinical herbalism teacher recommended to me when asking about plants to utilise for a rather general health support. How to stay healthy? A jack of all trades almost, straight from the realms of mother nature’s supply of herbal remedies.
Especially valuable for any ailments resulting from a poor immune system and those issues with the brain function likely coming to plague us with aging: Greek Mountain Tea is a plant that gets most herbalists excited and definitely deserves its place in your herbal medicine cupboard and simply put, makes a fabulous addition as part of your daily routine.
“Better health and more happiness, that’s what Greek Mountain Tea stands for since antiquity.”
Little did we seem to know about this exceptional herb until clinical studies unveiled its positive effects on Alzheimer’s disease, ADHS in adults and even diabetes. It revitalises cognitive functions and is therefore not only recommended in folk medicine for depression, but also for an extending list of ailments related to our immune system and stimulation of our brain cells. The herb showed that it keeps the neurotransmitter dopamine in the blood for longer which supports our ability to focus and is one of the reasons why it can be applied as a treatment for those with ADHD. Hence, Greek Mountain Tea isn’t only hyped for its health benefits by a closed off herbalist community, praising herbal remedies over modern medication! Modern scientific research gets us “normals” fired up as clinical studies confirm that Sideritis scardica can:
- Combat Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
- Enhance focus in adults with ADHD
- Lower blood pressure, reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes
- Improve digestive health
- Increase bone density
- Enhance immune function and prevent colds and flu
- Reduce anxiety and depression
- Reduce insulin resistance
- Promote weight loss
- Relieve joint pain
